Child Play Madhubani Painting on Handmade Paper from India, ‘Bachpan’

i Bachpan /i is the Hindi word for “childhood”, which is the theme for Indian artist Bharti Dayals folk painting of a girl playing under the sun with a traditional game and surrounded by birds, flowers and leaves. The colorful painting is a beautiful representation of the Madhubani style crafted with acrylic paint and vegetable dyes applied with brushes, sharpened reeds and pen nibs to handmade paper.
